About this place
For a substantial meat dish at BASECAMP.MEGURO, the signature smoked pork spare ribs are hard to miss. The 300g ribs are smoked at a low temperature and served with the house BBQ sauce. One diner who ordered them recalled the dish alongside a kale salad, making the ribs a tempting centrepiece for a meal built around meat.
For a more generous sandwich, try the All-Star Meat Sandwich. It packs in spare ribs, grilled chicken and sausage, finished with the house BBQ sauce, for 2,200 yen. It’s an easy choice when you want a mix of meats and a filling meal. Grilled chicken leg and smoked sausage are also available individually, while sides include coleslaw with shio-kombu, garlic bread and homemade chilli.
The drinks list ranges from craft beer and wine to cocktails. Craft beers from Manchin Brewery arrive irregularly and in limited quantities, so the selection can change with each visit. Beer is a natural match for the spare ribs, while a glass of wine or a Kaku highball offers another way to suit the mood of the meal.
For dessert, there’s smooth soft-serve made with rich milk, or olive soft-serve topped with olive oil, salt and honey. One visitor ordered the combination and enjoyed its unexpected mix of flavours.
The venue operates as a bar, with both dine-in and takeaway available. Visitors have mentioned its garage-like interior, music and events, making the atmosphere part of the appeal as well as the food.
